Sunday Morning Snapshots

Daddies and Buddies

Our Daddy is often underrepresented in posts. He works long hours, and is currently in grad school as well. We are grateful that even after long days he finds time to hold the buddies and read them some books. Remember Daddy, these are the good old days. We'll miss them when they are gone.

Oh, To Be Young

Logan had a friend over today. While eating snacks, I eavesdropped on their conversation.

Logan: "Every boy who grows up is a prince."

Taegan: "No, they aren't."

Logan: "Yes, when boys grow up, they marry beautiful girls and they become princes, and the girls become princesses."

Taegan: "Oh."

Logan: "Maybe I will marry you when I grow up." (Giggle)

We Love You, Beach

We recently returned home from our annual pilgrimage to the beach.
This year we had about 50 in the group. We filled several campsites and provided entertainment to bundled up and awestruck Californians who, after seeing us in the freezing water, curiously asked if we were Canadians.
Grandma was the oldest.
Stockton was the youngest.
Our days are filled with a myriad of activities. Some of our favorites are beach volleyball,
sleeping,
ocean kayaking,
cuddling in tents,
playing in the waves,
catching sea creatures,
relaxing in camp chairs and watching the body boarders get pounded in the waves,
grandmas and little kids foot racing,
and running away from freezing ocean water.
Logan played hard all day, and began begging to go to sleep every night by 7:00. At the beach, he barely checked in for a sandwich and a hug, lest his glorious playing be interrupted.
Stockton also loved his trip. He slept well and got acquainted with his new cousins.
Logan and his cousin George spent hours digging this hole.
Grandma and Grandpa spooned on the blanket.
Daddy and Logan played.
Mommy and baby slept and cuddled.
Logan body boarded on the sand... and a little in the water.
Beach, you are our very favorite. We'll miss you until next year.
